Shoulder Shrugs Exercise Using the Hammer Strength Machine
I like to do this shoulder exercise using the Hammer Strength machine, but you can also do it using weight training machines dedicated to the shoulder press or using 2 dumbbells.
This exercise can be done facing the machine or facing away from the machine. Both approaches will do a great job in working out the shoulders but from different angles, and will add variation to your workout.
How to do this exercise:
Grab the 2 handle bars and face the front of the machine (facing forward).
Push your shoulders up until you can go as far as you can go to the top of the movement. Try to avoid using your arms to pull the weight up because your arms will be doing all the work and your shoulders will not get the full benefit of this exercise. The natural tendency is to pull the weight up with your arms.
Lower the handles back to the starting position.
Breathe out as you pull up, breathe in as you lower.
